Our new library catalog.  Find the resources you need for research, fun reading, or for school work.  You can go to the home page and browse by clicking on the first box or enter a keyword in the search box to generate a list on the website.

PPS Student Portal

There are new icons that have been added.  The pencil takes K-5th graders to a pages that has links to activities that they can explore to keep their minds sharp and learning.

Research and Classwork 

 

World Book Online - World Book is a free online encyclopedia to all PPS students and teachers.  Encyclopedias are in English and in Spanish.

 

Oregon School Library Information System - OSLIS is a free resource to all Oregon students and educators. It has instructions on how to research for a paper, several huge databases of multimedia information, and a site that helps to create a perfect Works Cited page. It also has ebooks by National Geographic. When connecting to one of the databases you will need to type in Portland to find our school district.

     

      Research in English and in Spanish.

   

At the top switch to Spanish (See red circle in pic).  Navigation, search, and articles will all be in Spanish.

 

 

     

 Explore Videos, Ebooks, Magazines, and Photos.  At the top you can switch to Spanish, but that only changes the navigation and instructions.  All videos and books are still in English.  You will also need to use English in the search box.

 

Newsela-A virtual student news resource.  The articles can be adjusted to different reading levels.  Many of the upper grade classes have already learned how to use this resource.

 

Learn360 - streaming video, research databases, and eBook collections; including Facts On File, The World Almanac®, Learn360, Bloom's, Ferguson's, Chelsea House, and Films Media Group.
